Chennai, April 20, 2026 – Manali Petrochemicals Ltd (MPL) has announced that it will restart operations at its Plant-1 in Manali, Chennai, following a government directive allocating a fixed daily quantity of propylene from Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (CPCL).

Operations at the plant are expected to resume in a phased manner upon receipt of propylene supplies from CPCL. The company stated that the force majeure condition, which had necessitated the temporary suspension of Plant-1 operations in March, now stands resolved to the extent of the propylene allocation made by the Government of India.

MPL had temporarily suspended the plant in March after CPCL halted propylene supplies citing a directive from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Propylene is the primary and indispensable feedstock for MPL's manufacturing operations, sourced exclusively from CPCL.

As India's premier integrated manufacturer of Polyols and PO, MPL supplies innovative polyurethane raw materials and blended systems to diverse industries, including automotive, furniture, footwear, appliances, pharmaceuticals, paints, coatings, and food & fragrances.
