March  13,  2026 Tokyo, Japan—Tosoh Corporation has obtained the ISCC PLUS1 for its MDI products manufactured at its Nanyo Complex in Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.

The Yokkaichi Complex has introduced the mass balance approach2 in its production processes. This furthers its sustainable practices and facilitates its expansion of products utilizing biomass- and recycled-derived raw materials.

Tosoh pledges to comply with the latest ISCC PLUS requirements, in accordance with the latest ISCC regulations. As such, the company will continue to meet the expectations of society and stakeholders through transparent management and ongoing improvement. Tosoh will also promote this certification and the provision of certified products among other entities to further contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.

1. The ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) PLUS is an international certification system that manages and ensures biomass- and recycled-derived raw materials and products throughout the supply chain.

2. The mass balance approach is a materials tracking method recognized by ISCC PLUS. Its application when manufacturing products from a mix of biomass- and other raw materials, e.g. petroleum-based raw materials, ensures that an input proportion of biomass and raw materials can be allocated to any given product.
