Leverkusen, Germany – Yun Chen is to take over as production head for Covestro’s European sites at the start of February. In addition, the company recently announced that Monique Buch will become its chief commercial officer later this year.

Chen will succeed Daniel Koch, who is leaving the company. His previous role was as head of performance materials operations in APAC, and he began his career with Covestro at its Krefeld-Uerdingen site. He has a PhD in chemical engineering, and has been with the company for 30 years.

“With his many years of experience and international perspective, I am confident that Yun will successfully guide and develop our European sites through the current challenges,” said Hermann Dörholt, head of Covestro’s performance materials business.

Dutch national Buch, meanwhile, is set to take over as CCO by the start of June, replacing Sucheta Govil, who has been in the role since 2019. She will be responsible for the company’s solutions & specialties business, leading six business entities, including supply chain centres in three major regions. Buch joins from Lenzing, where she was EVP responsible for nonwovens, and previously worked for Freudenberg Performance Materials and Owens Corning.
