Tokuyama Corporation (Tokyo) has declared a price increase for hydrochloric acid in the Japanese market, set to take effect on January 1, 2025. The price will rise by ¥15 per kilogram.
The adjustment reflects escalating costs of feedstock and logistics, according to the company.
For the fiscal first half ending September 30, Tokuyama's chemicals business reported a 2.7% year-on-year growth in net sales, reaching ¥57.2 billion ($373 million). Operating profit from the segment edged up 0.2%, amounting to ¥5.2 billion.
