On October 25, Wanhua Chemical officially released the first public announcement of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) of Wanhua Chemical (Fujian) Isocyanate Co., LTD. 1,500 ktpa MDI technical transformation and expansion integration project.
Based on the original 800 ktpa MDI unit, the project will upgrade the condensation unit, photochemical unit and separation unit to 1,500 ktpa MDI capacity, supporting the relevant raw material production, and simultaneously upgrade and expand the related infrastructures. The construction unit is Wanhua Chemical (Fujian) Isocyanate Co., LTD., located in the western industrial area of Jiangyin Port City Economic Zone, Jiangyin Town, Fuqing City, Fujian Province.
Wanhua Chemical has also said that in the future, it will further enhance the company's core competitiveness in the field of polyurethane and enhance the company's service ability to customers, so MDI and TDI products have been constantly increasing their production capacity.
As for MDI upstream raw materials, Wanhua Chemical announced the MDI integration supporting project of Wanhua Fujian Industrial Park on September 5, 480 ktpa formaldehyde project. The formaldehyde project uses the effective gas (mainly hydrogen and carbon dioxide) generated by the gas capacity expansion transformation project to produce formaldehyde, providing the formaldehyde raw materials needed for the MDI production of isocyanate company. The project will build a set of 200 ktpa methanol synthesis device and two sets of 240 ktpa formaldehyde devices and supporting storage tanks.
According to the gas capacity expansion project announced earlier this year, on the one hand, the existing three gasification systems in the existing gas plant are reformed, and two new sets of gasifiers and supporting devices are added. After reconstruction, the total production capacity of syngas in the entire plant is increased by 330,000 Nm3/H; At the same time, one set of 62,500 Nm3/H oxygen air separation device, one set of 40,000 Nm3/H air pressure device, one set of 20,000 Nm3/H and one set of 30,000 Nm3/H carbon monoxide cryogenic separation device, two sets of 80,000 Nm3/H PSA hydrogen production device are constructed in the reserved land. One set of 46.4 ktpa sulfuric acid (sulfur recovery) plant, one set of 200 ktpa ammonia plant.
