PU China 2024, co-hosted by MM International Exhibition Co.,Ltd., China Polyurethane Industry Association, and Crain Communications Ltd., concluded successfully on July 19, 2024. This year's PU China reached new heights in terms of exhibition area, number of participating companies, and visitor attendance, once again highlighting the remarkable influence and vitality of the polyurethane industry.

The exhibition attracted over 210 international polyurethane companies, showcasing the latest achievements and development concepts in the polyurethane field. Previously, we explored some of the participating companies. In this article, we will continue to introduce more leading companies in the polyurethane field, witnessing the industry's innovation and prosperity together.

Evonik is one of the world's leading specialty chemicals companies, and its polyurethane additives series has maintained a leading position in the industry for many years. At PU China 2024, Evonik presented a comprehensive portfolio of additives, including surfactants, catalysts, curing agents, functional additives, and release agents.

Evonik unveiled its new TEGOSTAB® LCF low carbon footprint series at the exhibition. These products are produced at Evonik's surfactant production base in Essen, Germany, which has obtained ISCC PLUS international sustainability and carbon certification. This ensures that the TEGOSTAB® surfactants are based on renewable raw materials and that the supply chain is fully traceable. The product line is suitable for the production of flexible and rigid foams, with extremely low volatile organic compounds (VOC) and cyclic siloxane (D4, D5, and D6) residues less than 0.1% of the total weight, helping formulators meet stringent emission standards while producing high-quality foams.

Milliken is a world-leading manufacturer of textiles and chemical products. Milliken Chemicals covers five business areas: polymer additives, high-performance colorants and additives, fine chemicals, coatings, and microencapsulation. In the polyurethane industry, Milliken colorants are widely recognized for their excellent performance and broad application range.

Milliken's Reactint® colorants are the most widely used polyurethane coloring system globally. Reactint® colorants are 100% homogeneous liquids, soluble in polyols, and do not stratify, flocculate, or settle over time. Thanks to this pure liquid nature, Reactint® can be mixed with other raw materials such as polyols online during the production of polyurethane foams or resins, allowing for color changes without stopping production. Polyurethane manufacturers can easily mix any color with just five basic Reactint® colors.

Sinochem Donghua (Zibo) Co., Ltd. (referred to as Sinochem Donghua) is a subsidiary of the Chlor-Alkali Division of China National Chemical Corporation. It is a single champion demonstration enterprise in Chinese manufacturing and a high-tech enterprise, holding a leading position in the polyether polyols manufacturing industry. Sinochem Donghua focuses on the polyether polyol industry with an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons. At PU China 2024, Sinochem Donghua showcased polyethers for automotive interiors, construction, sports, furniture, industrial, and chemical fields, fully demonstrating the company's technical strength and innovation capabilities.

Rongsheng Petrochemical is one of the leading enterprises in China's petrochemical and chemical fiber industry, mainly engaged in the production and sales of petrochemical and chemical fiber-related products. The company has established a complete industrial chain from refining, aromatics, and olefins to downstream PTA, MEG, polyester (PET, including bottle flakes and films), and polyester yarn (POY, FDY, DTY). In the polyurethane field, the company's polyether project (540,000 tons of propylene oxide, 800,000 tons of polyether polyols, and polymer polyols) is one of the key projects of Rongsheng's second phase Jintang project. Building on the existing first phase 380,000 tons/year polyether polyol of Zhejiang Petrochemical, the company optimized and upgraded to double the capacity and continuously expand its market share domestically and internationally. The second phase added slow rebound polyether polyols, high rebound polymer polyols, and high rebound polyether polyols, with comprehensive improvements in odor, VOC, and aldehyde values, suitable for automotive and soft furniture applications.

Hengguang New Materials (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. is a professional manufacturer of various polyurethane raw materials and additives. The company's polyurethane materials include amine catalysts, silicone surfactants, tin octoate and deodorants, hydrophilic agents, anti-scorch agents, flame retardants, color pastes, modified MDI, and polyether blends.

This year, Hengguang New Materials showcased multiple raw material samples applied in various fields. These products are based on the company's latest research and development results, boasting excellent physical properties and superior chemical stability, while incorporating advanced environmental and energy-saving concepts. This fully demonstrates Hengguang New Materials' firm commitment to technological innovation and sustainable development.

Zhejiang Hengfeng New Materials Co., Ltd. is a national high-tech enterprise specializing in the research, production, and sales of high-performance polyurethane new materials. Located in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, the company has built 15 polyether production lines with advanced equipment and complete facilities, including five 100m³ complete production lines and two polymer polyol (POP) continuous production lines, with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of high-performance polyurethane new materials. At this exhibition, Hengfeng New Materials showcased its new rigid foam product HF1200: a high-functionality rigid foam polyether for all-water foaming systems.

Wenzhou Feilong Polyurethane Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd. is a professional provider of overall polyurethane solutions, specializing in the development and production of various polyurethane elastomer casting machines, polyurethane foaming equipment, resin encapsulating machines, and mold-bearing production lines. This year, Wenzhou Feilong Polyurethane showcased its new refined field research and applications, such as MC nylon casting machines, specialized equipment for polymer composites, precision coating equipment, and specialized equipment for road and bridge cushioning blocks.

Menhover is a professional R&D, production, and sales company of new silicone materials and special catalysts, founded by returnees and experts in the polyurethane and silicone industries. It is a high-tech enterprise in Shanghai and Jiangxi Province. The company's main business includes silicone surfactants, metal catalysts, amine catalysts, and polyurethane additives, mainly used in various industries such as flexible and rigid high-rebound and special polyurethane foams. The product range is rich and sold globally.

RIM Polymers Industries has been engaged in polyurethane solutions for over 30 years. The company's unique GMA brand high-pressure polyurethane foaming machine stands out in the polyurethane industry for its high reliability and stability. RIM Polymers Industries also presented at the exhibition with the topic "Innovative Applications of RIM Foaming Equipment in Automotive, LNG Panels, and New Energy Batteries."

Hairma Technology Co., Ltd. is an environmentally friendly company focusing on sustainable bio-based low-carbon polyols, with products applied in adhesives, electronic potting compounds, home foams, insoles, automotive seats, coatings, and other polyurethane product industries. Hairma's plant oil polyol is a low-carbon environmental product made from soybean oil through epoxidation and ring-opening reactions, with a bio-based content of 100%. "Using green materials to produce green products" and "providing customers with polyol processing solutions" have been Hairma's business principles and development directions for long. Through technological reform and innovation, the products have successively obtained national invention patents (Patent No.: ZL201510243984.0, CAS No.: 1621188-04-2). Hairma has been committed to the R&D and production of plant oil polyols, providing a series of product application technical support to customers. The products are now maturely applied in adhesives, electronic potting compounds, home foams, insoles, automotive seats, coatings, and other polyurethane product industries and have received customer recognition and continuous use.

Poly Advanced Materials Technology Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise engaged in the R&D and production of high-performance new materials synthesized from greenhouse gas carbon dioxide. Established in 2017, the core team is entirely from Zhejiang University. The company owns proprietary intellectual property rights for carbon dioxide new material polymerization process technology, with its core product being carbon dioxide polyol PCE.

Poly Materials' CO₂ polyol PCE product uses carbon dioxide as a raw material, with a fixed amount (mass fraction) of over 30%, surpassing similar products. The carbon neutrality effect of the PCE product is significant, and the carbonate structure proportion in the product can reach up to 70%, with overall performance close to that of polycarbonate polyols.

This grand event is not only a splendid showcase of technological innovations and industrial upgrading achievements in the polyurethane industry but also a concentrated expression of the profound resonance between sustainable development strategies and green environmental protection concepts within and beyond the industry. Numerous exhibitors have showcased their innovative prowess, unveiling a range of environmentally conscious new polyurethane materials, cutting-edge low-carbon production techniques, and groundbreaking circular economy solutions. These achievements have infused the industry with a fresh burst of energy and direction, signifying a shift towards a new era of green transformation, efficient operations, and sustainable growth for the polyurethane industry.
