The North American Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) announced that its members recycled 1.36 million tons of materials in their insulation products in 2023. Recycling Today News highlighted that the primary material used was glass, making up 1.18 million tons or 87% of the total. Of this, 1.15 million tons (77%) were utilized in insulation production in the US, while 191,000 tons (23%) were used in Canada. Since 1992, NAIMA's industry-wide recycling program has diverted 47 million tons of recycled materials into insulation production.

Curt Rich, NAIMA's president and CEO, stated, "Our industry consistently shows its dedication to incorporating recycled materials in the creation of essential products. With a growing emphasis on whole building decarbonization, insulation products play a crucial role. By sourcing recycled materials, we can reduce our environmental impact and produce essential insulation that ultimately lowers building emissions."
