GTT’s Latest PU-insulated LNG Containment System Gains Approvals

GTT has achieved a significant milestone with its GTT NEXT1 LNG cargo containment system, receiving design approval from Bureau Veritas and General Approval for Ship Application from Lloyd’s Register.

These approvals, granted at the Posidonia 2024 maritime show in Athens, validate the system’s compliance with industry regulations, including the IMO IGC Code, marking a significant step forward in LNG transportation technology.

The GTT NEXT1 technology represents an innovative approach to membrane containment systems for liquefied gases. Utilizing two metallic barriers and prefabricated reinforced polyurethane foam panels, it offers enhanced thermal and mechanical performance while maintaining reliability. By combining proven materials and components with new advancements, GTT aims to improve the efficiency and reliability of LNG transportation.
