PUdaily,Shnaghai -- April 5,2021   Lanxess has completed the acquisition of Theseo (Laval, France), a producer of disinfection and hygiene products used in livestock farming to prevent and control diseases. The cost of the transaction was approximately €70.0 million ($85.2 million).

With the acquisition, Lanxess says that it is expanding its portfolio of products for the growth market of animal husbandry—now comprising an “extensive range of disinfection and hygiene solutions.” It is also adding products for pest control and for animal nutrition and welfare to its portfolio. The new businesses will be integrated into the material protection products business unit of Lanxess.

The acquired businesses represent sales of around €33 million and EBITDA in the mid-single-digit million-euro range. Within the next three years, Lanxess expects an additional annual EBITDA contribution in the same amount from synergy effects.
