PUdaily,Shanghai-As China only imports a small number of cars from America, the impact of additional tariffs on China’s cars imports is limited. In 2017, China imported 1.2159 million cars, up 16.8% year on year. Among the top 10 carmakers from which China imported automobiles, only Lincoln as an American brand was found. In the year, the manufacturer exported 64,700 vehicles to the China, up 78.5% year over year. In addition, in the same year Tesla as a producer of new energy vehicles exported 17,000 vehicles to China, up 51.6% year on year. Considering the annual sales of more than 20 million cars in domestic market, the reduction in automobile imports from America will have very limited impact on China’s finished automobile market.
